Beyoncé couldn't have said it better in her song "If I Were A Boy." Boys most certainly have it easier than girls.
1. Morning Rituals
Suppose a man and a woman both start work at 7:00 a.m. and have to leave by 6:30 to get there. The man can roll out of bed at 6:15, shower, make a breakfast smoothie and still have time leftover. The woman has to set her alarm for 5:00 so she can shower, blow-dry and style her hair, put on her make-up, and rush to make breakfast. We all know how long it took to transform Mia from a beast to a princess in "Princess Diaries."
2. Nighttime Rituals
Men spend less time getting ready for work in the mornings and less time getting ready for bed at night. Women have to remove the makeup that they spent eons applying in the morning and many women go through a very long process of applying a variety of skincare products to keep their skin as smooth as a baby's butt.
3. Bathroom Lines
Have you ever noticed at large events like concerts or sports games, the line for the women's restroom is always wrapped around the entire venue while men can walk right in and right out in no time. Why don't they make more stalls in the women's restrooms? If you're a woman, you might as well get cozy in line, because you'll be there for a while.
4. Packing for Trips
Men always seem to be able to fit all their stuff into a carry-on no matter how long the trip is. They pack a few T-shirts, pants, and a toothbrush and they are set. Women need to pack practically their entire bathroom with all their skin and hair products so they don't get confused for a sea urchin.
5. Men Don't Have Uteruses
Men don't have to go through any problems associated with uteruses, meaning no periods and no pregnancy. Women have to experience the pain and emotions associated with periods and pregnancy and men tend to think that women exaggerate this pain but have you ever seen a video of induced pregnancy cramps on men? I'm sure those men would agree that pregnancy pain isn't exaggerated.
6. Men Don't Have to Look Good All the Time
There is so much social pressure on women to look perfect. They need to have the perfect body and the perfect skin. Even campaigns for positive body image show skinny women with clear skin. It seems that men have a much easier time getting away with minor imperfections. Men can have rough skin and they will be considered a handy-man. They can have a little chub on their belly and they have the perfect dad bod. The same courtesy should be applied to women.
Sometimes, I wish I was a boy.
