I like to credit Wikipedia with quenching a lot of my thirst for knowledge. I know I’m definitely judged for saying this, but we all know it’s true. Do you ever have a desire to study all Chicago Blackhawks players? Or what year Mark Zuckerberg was born? Or maybe you forgot the synopsis to High School Musical (because you are the devil) and want to relive the magic of Disney through reading about its production. Wikipedia has really been there to answer life’s most important questions.
Wikihow is a website that gives advice and directions on how to complete tasks like laundry or writing a resume. But I think we should dream big here. This platform can provide advice on the most vital questions one could ever ask. If I ever had the chance to run Wikihow, or even give advice on these kinds of things, I would. But for now, I will just leave my suggestions here.
1. How to make it to your Friday 8AMs
A lot of it is common sense, but it’s harder than you think.
Article highlights: coffee, setting multiple alarms
2. How to marry into royalty
Not all of us can pull a Princess Catherine and become the Duchess of Cambridge. Something is telling me I won’t meet my Prince William at the Union Starbucks, so a little advice on this matter would be much appreciated.
Article highlights: British accents, drinking tea with your pinky up
3. How to understand politics
If you’re not a political science major, politics can seem overbearing and confusing. But becoming informed about current events and important issues leads you to cast an educated vote in an election.
Article highlights: Reading the newspaper, registering to vote
4. How to clean your room
As a soon-to-be college sophomore, I have yet to find an efficient way to clean my room. Most of the time, I get distracted by ridiculous things that I find and barely even tackle the task. Once again, this is something that is a lot harder than you would think.
Article highlights: Not giving a damn about the stuff you find under your bed (it’s down there for a reason)
5. How to not write the worst online articles ever
When you give people an online platform to write anything, they will certainly take advantage of that. And sometimes I wish they would not. I’ve seen one too many articles with mundane ideas and points they have yet to be proven.
Article highlights: drafting, re-drafting, more edits
6. How to impress your boss
Once my boss walked past me while I was taking a Snapchat of me eating pizza. Definitely was a less than positive experience in my book. In my opinion, it can take weeks to get your boss to like you and you have to work hard to earn their respect and trust. Please inform me on how to do that Wikipedia, life is hard.
Article highlights: No snapchat, no pizza
So Wikihow, your website can do a lot of expanding and growing. I hope for my sake you do.
So, now this is the time I go onto Wikihow and ask about how to end this article.
