I lose respect for girls who completely abandon their best friend for their boyfriend. Girls sometimes get so caught up in what they think love is. They push aside everyone who has always been there for them and forget who they are. However, in their defense, a lot of girls are guilty for doing this. After seeing her hurt, eating a lot of ice cream and wiping her tears, you can't help but hate him. When she finally finds the courage to let go of him, you are so happy she can get on track to becoming herself again. Even after years have passed and you see him again, you still hold that grudge against him.
Why do we always hate our best friends ex boyfriend? Many reasons.
1. He has hit on us before
When our best friends turn their backs, their boyfriends think they are sly and can make inappropriate gestures and googly eyes. No thanks dude. I already don't like you and you aren't that much of a catch.
2. He cheated on her
Maybe not just once, but twice he cheated. You had to put the pieces back together for your best friend who thought her life was over. She thought she was not good enough and considered self harm. You never want to see her like that again and you hope she never goes back. If they do it once, they'll do it again.
3. She always took his side
He was obviously always wrong and his arguments were invalid, but I guess that's beside the point. When you and him got into altercations your best friend would say something along the lines of "Come on guys be nice to him" or tell you to stop causing fights with him.
4. He was bossy
When you needed a wingman or just wanted a girls night, he wouldn't let her. She would then proceed to blow off her friends, every single time, for him.
5. He still hasn't changed
You can see him out at the bar 3 years later and he is still making bad decisions and acting like he is still in high school. Grow up.
6. He always tries to talk to you
Please dude, go away. I don't want to hear how sorry you are that you hurt her. If you truly cared, you wouldn't have done it in the first place.
7. He tries to make her jealous
He will stare at her all night and the moment she looks over, he will kiss another girl. I actually find it amusing, because the girl he chose to be all over is either 14 or looks like a foot.
8. The second chance
Right when she's finally getting over him, he gets lonely and tries to walk back into her life. She takes him back because she misses the memories and not necessarily him. He then ruins it again and there you are picking up the pieces again. NEVER LET AN OLD FLAME BURN YOU TWICE.
9. He is the reason for 2 A.M. phone calls
Please, stop breaking her heart and being rude to her so I can sleep or watch Netflix in peace.
10. Your best friend was way out of his league
Your best friend is a dime piece, duh. You don't even know how he got so lucky with her. She did everything for him and his kindest gesture was taking her out to dinner with restaurant gift cards he got for Christmas.
11. We are loyal
We would help our best friends bury a dead body if we had to. We will do anything for them and always have their back. Of course they also love hearing "OMG I saw him out tonight and he looked so ugly".
It is hard to be nice to him, because every time you see him, you think about what he did to her. I will always hold my grudge against my best friend's ex boyfriend. However, sometimes I sit back and think about how he was a lesson for her. We sometimes laugh about it, because he is living proof of how stupid she can be. We may now laugh about it, but I will always dislike my best friend's ex boyfriend.
