The "all natural" look has become a trend these days, where girls show effortless beauty without makeup, hairstyles and girly outfits. And there's nothing wrong with that! We should be able to express ourselves however we want, but that also means that us girls who do like makeup, hair, and high heels shouldn't be ashamed or put down for that.
If you don't like spending an hour putting makeup on and curling your hair, that's fine, but there are girls who actually love dolling themselves up. That doesn't mean that we don't think we're beautiful without it, but we find pleasure in expressing ourselves this way. We don't mind running a few errands with our hair in a messy bun and wearing no makeup. Sometimes we love those laid-back days, and we don't feel insecure about ourselves. However, if throwing on eyeliner and mascara makes us feel more beautiful and confident, then why should we be ashamed of that?
We live in a generation now where we feel inclined to express ourselves in many ways. If you want to wear your sweatshirts and sweatpants and live in comfort all day, go right ahead! The same goes for the girls who like to wear dresses, heels, and fashionable clothes.
Here's the thing though: we are not doing it to impress you. While we may spend extra time getting ready for a date or event, most of the time outside of that, we are doing it for ourselves. Shocker! We are so sick of the people who say: "You look so much better without makeup", "You don't need to wear that much makeup", "You don't have to dress up all the time and do your hair", and "Who are you trying to impress?"
Get this through your head: We do NOT do this for you. We do it for ourselves because we like it and it's a form of expression. Makeup is an art, and it gives us a confident boost that we need every once in a while.
There's something about filled in eyebrows, winged eyeliner, and red lipstick that makes us feel super confident. Curling our hair and styling it makes us feel a little extra beautiful that day. And if we wanna throw on heels to feel bad-ass, nothing's stopping us. That includes your opinion.
Everyone is beautiful with or without makeup.
It's also a personal choice on whether you choose to dress up or dress down any day of the week. But if dressing up makes you feel good, then who's stopping you? Makeup, hair, and fashion is a form of creativity and expression. So enough with the criticism and judgmental opinions on how we like to express ourselves.
If boys like girls who wear "less makeup", then we don't want to be with your close-minded and opinionated ass anyway. And since when did we make decisions based off of your likes and dislikes?
