"The Lizzie McGuire Movie" is a masterpiece, despite its painfully unoriginal title. It is my dream (and pretty much every other girl who grew up in the early 2000s) to travel to Italy and become an international pop sensation. The movie is still really popular despite its release 13 years ago. We have all gotten old. I'll always be up for the millionth viewing of this movie, and here are some reasons why you should sit down and join me in watching this classic movie.
1. Lizzie
Lizzie was probably one of the coolest and down-to-Earth female Disney characters ever. In "The Lizzie McGuire Movie,"she goes to Italy, meets an Italian popstar and then becomes one herself all before entering high school. She is the definition of goals and doesn't let the haters get her down (Paolo and Kate).
2. Hilary Duff
One of the few Disney starlets who didn't go crazy or date Justin Bieber (I consider that to be one in the same), Hilary plays both Lizzie and her Italian popstar look-alike, Isabella, effortlessly. You go, Hilary!
3. Gordo and Lizzie finally kiss
We should all be so lucky to find a Gordo, ladies.
4. Kate stops being a troll
Being a mean girl only gets you so far in life, Kate. Maybe eating all those carbs made her nice again?
5. Paolo gets what he got coming to him
Doesn't it suck when "the nice guy" turns out to be a jerk? Lizzie is complete goals when she publicly humiliates Paulo in front of hundreds of fans and reveals that he can't sing. However, he does go on to become Garrett in "Pretty Little Liars," although that kind of doesn't work out for him either.
6. Ungermeyer
Principal Ungermeyer is the sass queen I want to become best friends for life with.
7. It's set in Rome!
8. The Songs
"Why Not" and " What Dreams are Made of" forever!
So, take a crazy chance and re-watch "The Lizzie McGuire Movie!"
