Swimmers are an interesting breed: we log in an insane amount of hours for training, get up sometimes at 4:30 in the morning in order to make practice, and eat large amounts of food in order to replenish our bodies after long practices.
As we sit down to celebrate what we are thankful for, swimmers especially look forward to Thanksgiving. Why, you may ask: because we can eat large amounts of food without feeling bad about it. Want three helpings of pie? Go ahead, it’s Thanksgiving.
Besides being surrounded by family, watching all the Thanksgiving specials, and hard practices on the run-up to the holiday, it is dinner that has swimmers liking Thanksgiving more than any other holiday.
So this holiday season, take the time to eat as much food as you can and be thankful for what you have, swimmers. Until the next year.
