Why Slut Shame Now?
Jan Vasek

Sex is natural. The world today talks so freely about sex that I feel I can too.

Sex is being done among many people in many age ranges. Sex is looked at differently in different age ranges as well. Grown men and woman look at it differently, and young men and women look at it differently.

In a perfect world, you would be finding your soulmate while only having the baggage of dating and not sex. That would be the ideal way. In our generation, kids are losing their virginity before leaving high school.

I'm not here to bring them to the light in shameful ways, I'm here to see that be put to an end. In reality, by the time you marry who you find to be your soulmate, you have slept with one person or more. In high school we experiment. You date someone for a while, and you decide if you feel like they're the one.

So we have sex while in high school, for guys its encouraged. Having sex in high school as a girl isn't so cool and accepted. Girls are slut shamed for doing natural life things.

Guys are able to boast how many girls they've been with while girls are quiet hoping he keeps her secret. As guys we're glorified, as for the girls they're put down.

So we move on to college, and we experiment more. The difference here is, the shaming is calmed down-- almost nonexistent. Lots of people are having sex. Guys are still boastful, but woman can now say that they've had sex and not feel like the whole world is judging them.

We move on in life and we move on with people and relationships. We have more sexual relations and this time it's not a surprise. When you're off ready to get married, do the number of partners you've had really matter?

So stop giving hell to the girls in school for being with a guy they think they trust. There are people doing worse behind closed doors, so just because you know someone isn't innocent does not give you reason to make them feel trashy.

Sex is natural. If it happens, it happens.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
