"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,"Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

It's election year. There have been so many different candidates out there saying they are going to fix this and fix that. Some want to build a wall, others want to destroy big banks. So many of their tactics seem more like middle school girl fights than political debates. It honestly feels at times when you're watching the news that it's voting for the lesser of evils and that the world is going the hell in a hand basket. I'm here to tell you have faith. Have faith in yourself, in humans, and that God is in control.

We hear a lot of negativity surrounding the world today, but if we go back in history there was always someone talking about the good ole days; there is always someone saying the sky is falling. Even in Jesus's day people thought the government was at it's worst. The current day was the worst it was going to get. Even in the worst of times HE. IS. STILL. GOOD.

God can do some wonderful things. He can use the lowly and make them so mighty, and make the mighty look like ants. He is the person that took Pontius Pilate and turned him into the footnote of the story of Jesus. Most of us wouldn't have a clue who he was without Jesus. He's raised nations to their peak, and destroyed the greats. He is all powerful and will move mountains.

"The Lord your God in your midst, the mighty one, will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness he will quiet you with his love he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17

No matter how big our problems get or how much trouble we get in or even when the world feels like it's crashing down. HE. IS. STILL. GOOD. We will never truly understand why certain things happen in our lives and we will have many unanswered questions like: Why did that guy get elected? Why did this happen? It's just not fair. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. No matter what gets thrown in our way, know that God is in control. Even if there is a good leader over our nation or even a bad one, He is still in control and He is still good.

It doesn't matter if you're left wing, right wing or just care about your chicken wings, it's all apart of a grander plan. So pray for your candidates, pray for your country, and pray that no matter the outcome, it will all be to God's glory.

As a past president once said, "Let us not seek the Republican answer, or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future." JFK

So let's go and be the best people we can be and have faith that God is in control.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
