You Can Only Leave It Up To Fate

Let it go, and let life happen.

I believe everything happens for a reason; every tear, smile, and wrinkle on your face was perfectly placed. It sounds cliche but everything is either a lesson or a blessing. Sometimes, it is hard to decipher the difference. Nevertheless, everything is as it should be.

I wish more people saw life this way. It is an oddly realistic look at life. In some ways, it is optimistic because it allows you to stay positive in hard times. Yet, in ways, it is pessimistic because you have to accept this is the way your life is in this moment.

Regardless, it is extremely fulfilling to accept your life for exactly what it is.

When I look around, I see my loving family, crazy friends, and small remembrances of all the amazing times in my life. If I focused on all the small things, I would never be happy, and I like to think I'm the happiest person in the world.

Isn't fate a crazy thing? Have you ever met someone you almost met 100 times, and then you do. All the sudden your life just changed for the better. When you look back, if you would have met them just a second earlier it would have been different.

Every friend that I lost, gave me room for new friendships. Every boy that made me cry, made me realize I am perfectly fine alone. Every bad grade made me work harder for the next A. Life is too short to overanalyze happening. Just remember, even storms are accompanied by a rainbow.

Life can be scary. It can be dark at times. Not everything that happens makes sense.

That is OK.

The best things in life are completely and utterly unplanned. They remind us why things happen. You cannot plan life, but isn't is comforting to think that eventually, everything will work out. If it has not worked out, it is not the end. The best is yet to come.

Stay thankful for the mistakes, errors, and tragedies. One day, you will look back and thank God everything happened the way it did. Live life without fear. Do stupid things for they just might pay off. Today is the day you actually start living. Go do something crazy. Learn to love yourself. Stop planning and analyzing. It will only hurt you in the end.

My goal in life is to never let life get me down. I can only worry so much; it is up to fate anyways. Let it go, it is out of your control.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
