Let's face it, dogs are truly man's best friend. And if you disagree then I'm sorry, you're either lying to yourself or greatly missing out. As an animal science major, don't worry I love all animals, dogs have always had a special place in my heart and will forever be my favorite domestic animal. Each dog is fantastic in their own way, with their own personalities, and let's be real, they're just plain awesome.
Dogs listen to you
You can tell your dog, or any dog for that matter, every last detail about your life and they accept you and love you for what you are. They'll sit there and listen to all your problems without a care in the world.
Dogs will cuddle with you
Who needs a boyfriend or girlfriend when you have a dog? Dogs love to just curl up next to you and join you for a nap and what's better than that?
Dogs will let you know when something is wrong
There is nothing I hate more, although I apologize I do it myself sometimes, when someone refuses to tell me what's the matter. Dogs will always let you know when they need something and a lot of the time it's just a belly rub, and who can say no to that?
Dogs are hilarious
Dogs are honestly one of the funniest animals I've come across and they never fail to make you laugh. The amount of times a day I look up funny dog videos on YouTube is probably considered excessive. But I know that if I ever need a good laugh or pick me up, dogs never fail to amaze.Dogs are adorable sleepersHave you ever seen an adorable human sleep? I didn't think so. Dogs are just so cute that they are awesome even when they're sleeping. They also give us a laugh when they think they're chasing something in their sleep.
Dogs are always there when you need them
The only time this isn't true is when you are a college student and a dog sighting is hard to come by. But other than that your pup will always be right by your side whether you need a shoulder to cry on or just some puppy love.Dogs will never judge you
The only reason they stare you down while you stuff your face with food is because they just want some too.
Dogs love you unconditionally
To a dog, you are their everything and they are going to worship you until the end. This is why dogs are so excited to see you when you come home, they never know if you're going to return and when you do, they love you for it.
Dogs are incredibly smart
I don't know about you, but I've met some pretty intelligent dogs in my day. This is includes my own dog, who I swear is a human living inside a dog's body because he knows too much.
Dogs help people
This can go in a lot of directions. There are therapy dogs, seeing eye dogs, and dogs trained to deal with humans and anxiety. There are police dogs and army dogs that help save people every day. The list goes on. Dogs do some pretty amazing things and don't get nearly enough credit.
Dogs make you happy
I don't trust anyone who doesn't smile when they're surrounded by a bunch of puppies.
Dogs are just awesome

There are hundreds of more reasons why dogs are basically the best thing to happen to us, but I'll just leave you with these. Dogs are great and will always be considered man's best friend.
