Call me vain, as I'm sure many of you other losing sports teams fans will, but you can't dispute cold-hard facts. And the fact is, our teams are just better than yours. Especially the Dodgers.
1. We Win.
I mean sorry, but it's true. Need further convincing? Two Words: The Giants. OK, so the 49ers aren't doing so well, I know, but The Giants, and The Warriors keep us busy with the whole winning situation in the down time the 49ers need to recover.
2. We have like 100 teams to choose from.
Me, myself and I are a die-hard, forever-in-love with, never wavering, fan of The Giants. As are many of my friends, but that is certainly not all the Bay has to offer. We have the A's (ew, but whatever floats your boat), The Raiders, The 49er's, The Sharks, The Warriors, The Earthquakes and probably more that I don't know about.
3. It is not just the Bay Area that supports our teams.
Literally all of California and other states root for our teams. I was driving about three hours from the Bay Area, and I passed a car towing a boat that was painted all black with an orange stripe and the Giants' logo on the side. The love for our teams is unmatched.
4. Cal-Trans, Need I say more?
If you live in the Bay Area, or know anything what-so-ever about us, you know, we all ride the local train, or BART to our beloved game. If going on public transportation in head-to-toe sports gear doesn't sound that fun, try doing it at eleven at night, with the whole train chanting "Go Giants." Try and beat that tradition, Dodgers, you won't.
5. Along the lines of crazy fans...
Being at any Bay Area sports event, you can't sit down for longer than 10 minutes, without some rowdy fan starting a whole seating section chant. Whether it's the warriors, 49ers or even the A's, our fan base is the craziest, loudest, most devoted fan base than any other area in the country. And I dare another city to contest this.
6. The sports gear is everywhere
It is not possible to go out into Bay Area civilization without seeing your favorite sports team gear on someone's car or body. And the deep-within excitement and connection you feel cannot be contained.
7. Along with our winning, we throw the craziest after-party-parade-celebrations anyone has ever seen.
When we say the whole city shuts down that is not an exaggeration. In my senior-year of high school, The Giants won their third off-year world series. I had 500 kids in my class, and it was reported 350 of us didn't show up to that day of school. My 20 closest friends and I woke up at 7 a.m., got on the train and spent all day at the parade.
8. Our sporting events are as special as your family Thanksgiving.
Think I'm kidding? Nope. We take this stuff seriously. If you aren't dressed head-to-toe in gear, including face paint and flags, you are failing.
9. The Bay Area is one big 'hyphy' family
We leave the games screaming, laughing and cheering with 10,000 other people who share our love, and we do this on a Tuesday night, with work the next day. We all love each other and share the Bay Area pride. If you don't talk to the people sitting next you at the game, you aren't from the Bay Area, and that is fact.
10. Our teams love us as much as we love them.
I don't even want to start this argument because I would have to quote people and I don't have the time to cite my sources. And honestly I have so much evidence for this I could write a whole other article, maybe I will, in fact. But trust me, no other team loves their city like Bay Area teams do.
11. Still not convinced that we rule the sports fan game?
Enjoy these photos that prove we truly are the best.
San Francisco was covered in black and orange confetti for weeks, and we loved it.
Yes, we all own one of these flags.
This is called the Shark's Tank. Intimidating isn't it?
We have Steph Curry. That makes us the best all by itself.
The Raiders haven't won in forever, and their crowd is still better than yours.
