Who Killed Chivalry?
Carla Anne

The ongoing question of, "does chivalry still exist?" has lead to the question, "what is considered chivalry in the first place?" Well, like any other hard working American would do: Google it. Chiv-al-ry (n): the combination of qualities expected of an ideal knight, especially courage, honor, courtesy, justice, and a readiness to help the weak. Can you think of any male other than your father that exemplifies this word? No. No you can’t.

Now that that’s out of the way, the next question is, "who killed it?" Did men or did women? This lost art has been trampled on by both sexes. Ladies, you have done one of two things. You have either made the last guy that said, “you look nice today,” feel like a creep for looking at you for more than three seconds or have deemed the frat boy’s action of placing your coat in his room at a party as a reason to go home with him. How many times have you picked the guy who held your feet during a keg stand over the guy who brought you flowers on your first date? Did you ever remember to call that guy back? Your grandfather would be ashamed. If you want respect, be respectable.

Gentlemen, or lack there of, you have gotten lazy. Most of you have gotten into the habit of picking the prettiest girl in your favorite sorority and making her your main squeeze for a week or two. Would it kill you to go home and watch the classic Adam Sandler movie Mr. Deeds and take a few notes? Be a little more Jack Johnson and a little less Juicy J.

In conclusion, the medieval times can blame the both of you. For all of you double X chromosomes out there, go watch Pretty in Pink and then find yourself your own undeniably adorable Duckie. Fellas, pick her a fresh flower from your nearest garden and keep your eyes up for an entire conversation. It's understood that this issue will not be resolved over night, but do not let “The Millennials” be the generation who let this dying practice become extinct.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
