Death is tragic, no matter who it is, where it is, or how it happened. A life was lost leaving family and friends to mourn and process the loss of their loved one. Death is occurring more frequently and violently and ending lives before they should. But where there is death, there is life.
When someone dies in such a fatal way, people flock together to speak out on injustice or just to honor those lives. The incidents that have exploded with black lives, blue lives, all lives, and gay lives matter protests are all out of death or discrimination. A black life is taken by a cop, a rally ensues and that person lives on through the voices of the ones that feel an injustice has taken place. A cop, or several cops, are shot down while trying to protect those rallies, but some who are on the opposing team find that justice can only be served in taking another life. A Gay night club is terrorized leaving America with the biggest mass shooting and the world in awe, leading us to come together to mourn those that were lost. The next day someone else gets shot, another group is blamed and another rally happens. An eye for an eye.
This game is just an on-going battle that peaceful protests, memorial services, and speeches are trying to end. No matter what any politician, celebrity, or Joe Shmoe says about the situation, someone ends up taking it wrong and saying that they aren't being listened to or taken care of. We hear all of you loud and clear. Black lives matter, blue lives, all lives, because in the end, someone died. No matter who that person was, a life was lost leaving us as a nation to question ourselves and split apart. As a nation, after the nightclub tragedy, social media blew up with prayers and hopes. But even more significantly, streets were filled with people coming together to mourn for the lives, their families, and our lives because let's be honest; we are going to Hell in a hand basket. Unless we learn to stop blaming each other and own up.
I see so many acts of kindness. I hear so many voices saying how they don't understand why this is happening and wondering how some people can have so much hate. Surely more than 60 percent of the world is wondering the same thing too. Unfortunately, bad people do exist and those are the ones that seem to have the upper hand in these situations. They normally don't come in groups, but individually. Peaceful protesters, the voices floating around asking, pleading, begging for a change, the cops that took an oath and honor it; those are groups that can crush the few bad eggs that have taken out too many people already.
If the world can come together to share love for a Netflix series, Pokemon GO, funny memes, cat videos and other everyday things, then an everyday thing we can all band together for too is peace.
