When you’re the girl who likes sports, you’re accused of being a flirt, trying to act like you know more than you do and being a liar. Just because a girl likes sports doesn’t mean she is lying. I would take a pair of jeans and a baseball game over a frilly dress and girly things any day. What do girly girls even do all day?
Guys often ask who your favorite player is. When you give them an answer, they think that you googled it or asked your father for a name of a player. They then proceed to ask the name of the player’s mother’s brother’s dog. They don't even know the name of the dog! Nobody knows the name of the dog!
People can't seem to grasp the concept that there are plenty of girls who like sports. Baseball, football or hockey - we like it all. There are some guys who don't like sports. There are some girls who don't like getting their nails done.
Girls who do like sports probably grew up watching a team with their dad or maybe with their aunt. We learned about everything, from foul balls to touchdowns spanning all sorts of sports. We probably even played sports growing up.
We're super competitive. When we play sports, we put our hearts on the line. We do the same thing for our favorite teams. We take their losses like our losses. We defend them even if they are on a losing streak because we love the game and we love our team just like any guy does.
Guys, when a girl says she likes sports, take her to a game instead of accusing her of being a liar. Believe me, you won't get anywhere accusing us. You take us to a couple games, and we'll become fast friends. We'll enjoy every second! We'll drink a beer or six with you and scream and cheer for our team just like you. Don't tell us to be a cheerleader when we're the biggest fans there are!
