I am writing this to you and to everyone out there who's life has been changed by the one they love the most. I never thought I would be this happy at this point in my life. I thought it would take years to find the right person for me. After dating boys throughout high school and even my early college years, I began to think, "Is this how every guy is going to be?" When I met you, everything changed.

Sometimes it can be hard growing up as a young woman without a father to guide her. I think that is why I put up with so many guys' antics. I was just hoping that someone would love me and treat me the way I deserve to be treated. Thank you for entering my life at just the right time and showing me what it is like to be treated like a princess every day.

The day I met you at the lake, I knew you were different than the rest, though I was still wary at first. Then, you came to see me at my house and we went to the Cheesecake Factory and I really began to have feelings for you. We kept in touch all throughout the summer and you still reached out to me while I was away at school. That is when I knew that there could be something between us. I was hopeful, but also scared because it had never worked out for me before. I did not want to get excited and get my hopes up. But, we never stopped talking.

Fast forward to New Year's Eve and you asked me to be your girlfriend. I was the happiest girl in the world. You told me about all of the fun we were going to have and how we would go to Mexico this summer. I was overwhelmed with happiness and joy. Then, you came up to Flagstaff to surprise me for Valentine's Day. The greatest gift was you coming up a day early with a dozen roses and petals everywhere. I was so shocked. You told me you loved me that weekend and it confirmed all of the feelings that I have for you. I knew that I loved you for a long time and was so glad to be able to tell you back that I loved you. I knew I did not have to be scared anymore and that you would always be there for me even with the long distance between us.

I love you and you are the best thing that has happened to me. Thank you for the endless laughs and love. And most of all, thank you for showing me how I deserve to be loved. This summer has been my best one yet and it is just the beginning. I look forward to many more summers to come with you.
