Being in college, it is not always the easiest to find the perfect person to live with. For some people in their freshman year, the random roommate set up is the perfect situation, and those two continued to be roommates throughout the duration of college. Other times, this is not the case and the first year living with someone new is a struggle. However, when you do find that perfect roommate situation everything just feels right. Everything seems to fall into place and you don't mind sharing a small space with them. You two end up enjoying doing everything together and find the joy in every situation.
It's the times when you are stressed out over just about everything possible and your roommate is the one that calms you down. I cannot count the amount of time she has sat and listened to me rant off about everything and anything I could possibly rant about. After some time of me letting some steam out, she then offered up help of what I should do. You are not just a roommate, you are also a therapist.
It's because of the times we never seem to stop laughing. Snapchat comes out with a new filter that changes your voice, and a few hours, and way too many videos later, we finally seem to calm down after people come check on us to see if we are okay. Did you talk in your sleep the night before? You know that at lunch I will tell everyone, yet no one will think that it is as funny as we do. You are not just a roommate, yet you are also my joy in small situations.
It is also the times that you act like a mother to me. Instead of asking me to do something, you demand that I do it on my own. You push me out of my comfort zone and help me grow into who I will become. You are there to pick up the pieces if I totally fall apart from it all. You are not just my roommate, you are one of the people in my life who pushes me to become a better me.
I can not be more thankful to have found you and to be living with you. Not many people are able to find a person in the way that I found you. You are more then I could think of in a roommate and nothing would be the same without you.
