When You Give A Girl A Pair Of Running Sneakers

When you give a girl a pair of running sneakers, she is going to want a matching workout outfit and a hair tie too.

Nothing beats the process of purchasing a brand new pair of running sneakers; going to your favorite shoe store, consulting with the sales person about what pair suits you best and your training schedule, trying on a billion pairs until you come across the perfect pair. There is something about buying a new pair of running sneakers that is unbeatable. Besides the purchase of sneakers, buying workout clothes follow right behind, am I right?

When you give a girl a pair of running sneakers, she is going to want to run everywhere and compete in every race too.

Back when I competed and trained in high school, nothing beat running around my hometown with my team. We had some fun courses and trails that we always looked forward to every season. Too, we always enjoyed coming across a new route that we would come back to in upcoming seasons. Coming to college, especially in a city atmosphere, words couldn’t describe my excitement to explore as a runner. Over these past 2 years, I have come across a handful of awesome places to run to in the Philadelphia region! Besides training, I have competed in some awesome races too! Numerous color runs, a Spartan Race, a trillion 5k's. I can't wait to take on some 10k's and half marathons in my upcoming future.

When you give a girl a pair of running sneakers, she is going to want a running buddy.

Some of the greatest people I have come across are people I have met through running! Also, every once in a while, it is super fun to have someone to go running with! The bond between 2 runners is very hard to beat.

When you give a girl a pair of running sneakers, she is going to learn a huge amount about herself.

Did you ever think how much you would learn about yourself just by going out and running? I sure as hell had no idea. The beauty about running is not only are you providing your body with a great workout, but you are giving yourself a huge amount of time to just think. I find myself thinking about everything and anything. Things that make me smile, make me angry, make me cry. Running provides you with the ability to push yourself in ways that you never knew existed within you. You thought you never could run a 5k and here you are running a half marathon. One can do anything they put their minds to! Keep going!!

When you give a girl a pair of running sneakers, she will fall in love with everything running has to offer.

I know what you are thinking... how can I find running to be fun?? Well let me tell you, there is a lot of things to love about running! Racing, buying new sneakers, setting goals, crushing those goals, stepping outside of your comfort zone, meeting amazing people along the way, creating new health habits, doing things that you thought at one point was impossible, the list could go on and on. If you are reading this and aren’t a runner, here is a little secret. Go out today, tomorrow, this week, whenever you can and just run. The first, second, third time might suck and feel weird if you never have run before. But keep going! Don’t give up. Continue running and don’t stop until you accomplish your inner goal. You will thank yourself one day, I promise!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
