I don't know about you, but I was one of the few who didn't get engaged during this holiday season. I can go on any one of my social media accounts and find old classmates that have gotten engaged, along with one of my best friends and my sister. And a few days ago, my best friend asked me to be her Maid of Honor before we spent the day shopping and getting wedding ideas.

I quickly realized what exactly that means and just how much pressure was just put on me. Not only do I have all the basic Maid of Honor duties with her, but I also have all the planning and trips to do with her mom. So from all the Maid of Honor's and bridesmaids out there, here are a few things we would like the bride to know before her big day.

1. "Dude, I'll let you buy these for us."

Remember, I am your Maid of Honor, not your Maid of Money. When we're out shopping there are so many hilarious and gorgeous things for the Bride, Maid of Honor, and bridesmaids all in which I know you would absolutely love to have. And believe me, I would love to buy them all for you.

But you may be marrying the man of your dreams who works his butt off so he can one day give you everything your heart desires, I am still a broke college student trying to figure out where I'm going to find the money to buy my textbooks.

2. Early morning wake up calls

You are already and early riser and now with all the wedding planning, you're up even earlier to get a head start on the day. Where I, on the other hand, can't actually function until I've had at least two coffee's and its noon. But for you, I will keep the volume on my phone up and the dry shampoo ready so I can come meet you whenever it's time.

3. Give us a second to write it down

By the end of the first day out shopping, you had already given me so many different jobs and things to do that as soon as I got home I collapsed onto my bed realizing I'm already behind and now going to have to schedule when I'll have time to eat. So write it all down or give us a second to pull out the notebook you had us get so we can write it down.

4. Breakfast dates

We promise you breakfast dates to get our coffee fix before spending days surrounded by lace, lights, lists, charts and whatever else wedding things you have planned for the day. But we also promise to make you laugh and wonder if we will act like a proper adult that day.

5. Decorating

If you want to cut out 400 pink hearts to put on the tables, then we will all be cutting out hearts with you. Twinkly lights everywhere? We will find the ladder. We are your "Bride Tribe" and will help you get as creative as you want.

6. Bachelorette party

Now some of us are first time Maid of Honor and have never planned a bachelorette party before, but let me tell you what we will take on this challenge and roll with it. We are the ones who have had random dance parties with you to celebrate final grades, job offers, big events and late nights where we've drunk a little too much. And as your last hoorah of being single, we want you to go out with a bang.

7. Please don't make me wear that...

I pretty much won the jackpot since I get to pick out my own dress for the wedding, but more often times than not we don't get to pick out our own dresses. So when the day comes to go dress shopping, we promise to try on anything you want but, please from the bottom of our hearts don't make us wear something only found in the circus.

8. Wine tasting

Have to go wine tasting? Done. Deal. Whether you want to go to a fancy place or just bring a bunch of bottles home to "sample wines for the wedding", we will help you with no questions asked. You're drunk in love and babe, we're just drunk.

9. When the time comes, we'll dance like no tomorrow

At almost every reception you go to, there are always parts where no one is out on the dance floor. We promise to get on that dance floor and embarrass ourselves if that means you're laughing and people are coming out to join us.

10. You're going to have the best Maid Of Honor toast

As your Maid of Honor and person I promise to tell your guests about how we met, the first time you told me about your groom, how much I love you and our friendship and how happy I am for you. But as your person, I also promise to embarrass you and make the entire room laugh and wonder how we made it out of college alive.

11. The Bride Tribe Promise

You chose us to be in your wedding and a big part of your special day for a reason. We are your best friends and as your best friends, we promise to be there for you every step of the way. Whether it's trying to make a decision on wedding venues and flowers for the centerpieces, to having a mental breakdown over the stress of planning your wedding, we promise to always be there to help. It is our job to take some of the stress off of you so you can enjoy the process and to make you smile when you're overwhelmed. We promise to hold your hand when you laugh, cry, scream and smile.

Every day, no matter what, your Bride Tribe is here every step of the way.

12. We love you

Even if you become bridezilla and drive us all nuts, just remember how much we love you. We are honored to be in your wedding and we are so happy for you and excited to see what your future holds.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
