It's an hour and 20 minutes before my deadline, and there isn't a single thing coming to mind. As I sit here wondering what to write it hits me, WRITER'S BLOCK! The creative process is not the easiest thing, but here are some things that help me get that process going, and come up with articles such as 8 Signs You Are The Therapist Friend According To Friends, Help Alfredo Find A Girlfriend, and the very famous How Friends University Is Exactly Like Hogwarts.
1. Procrastinate
Yes, you heard me correctly: procrastinate wait until the last minute to write something is about to pop into your brain.
2. Read
I love to read so I always have a book I've been meaning to read, or even assigned reading I had in class, on hand.
3. Go for a run
You tried to skim over this one, but I'm serious! Go out and run, and if you don't want to do that, then think about all the reasons you don't want to go and write an article about that.
4. Clean your room
This will get the creative juices flowing, and you'll have a clean workspace!
5. Wash dishes
This falls under numbers 3 and 4 but it's different because you'll need to eat again and you'll have clean dishes. Yes, you'll have to touch food, but you'll daydream and get a great idea for an article.
6. Listen to some music
So this is fun because music puts you in a great mood to just let your emotions run wild, and whether it's pumped up like "Bohemian Rhapsody," or slow like "Bohemian Rhapsody" (see what I did there?) you'll think of something to write about your ex, happiness, or any life experience.
7. Do some work at work
Maybe if you do some work at work you'll be able to write about Different Types of Bosses or some funny and relatable things about your co-workers.
(If any of my co-workers read this I love you, you're great, and you make work so much better [I'm serious about this.])
8. Sit and observe
Daydreaming is the key to any article, especially if you daydream outside on campus. Then you can come up with articles like The 10 Best Places To Nap At Friends University or How Friends University Is Exactly Like Hogwarts.
9. Watch some Netflix
This is how I wrote How Christina Yang Accurately Describes Adulthood!
10. Think about your most embarrassing moments
This will get you to think about your other childhood stories, or general stories to write about.
