As the Holiday Season approaches, so does finals season, which means a large number of students will be pulling all-nighters at home and sleeping on campus. You will begin to see your friends, fellow students, and even people you've never seen before getting some quick shut-eye before, during, and after classes.
Each of these places has been carefully selected by other students as optimal napping places. Next time you pull an all-nighter and have to be on campus and need a quick nap, keep these places in mind.
1. Casado Couches
Softest things ever, and they are usually pressed together so it looks like a king-sized bed. You could even have a friend napping session if you really wanted.
2. Edmund Stanley Library Couches
It seems all students fight for that big red couch that is near the vending machines. I can't tell you how many times I've had to pretend to buy a drink because someone was already using that couch; I know they saw me but I try to play it off.
This couch is always in high demand, but it'll get crazy during finals season so get ready to stake out until the person using it leaves.
3. Library Booths
I've seen people pull out their blankets and nap for about an hour. All I'm saying is that the booths are pretty awesome.
4. Campus Ministries Lounge
You could sleep here and get free coffee or hot chocolate (during the cold days) after. Just imagine: after a long class, you walk into the CM lounge, take a quick nap and, right before you have to go back out into the cold, you get a free hot drink.
5. BTB's Open Lab
This place is freezing, but if you have a blanket or jacket, you can actually take a nap near the computers. It is rare to actually find people here so nap your heart away!
6. Edmund Library Study Rooms
If you can find one that is actually unoccupied, write down how long you'll nap on the schedule outside, dim the lights, lock the door, and close your eyes under that desk.
7. Riney's Practice Rooms
I don't mean the old ones, I mean the ones in front of the dance studio where ballet students practice. I've actually seen people napping here for 30 minutes rather than practice, and I don't blame them.
8. Student Worker Lounge
I don't think you can actually use this if you aren't a student worker, but if you are then sleep in peace.
9. Your friend's Residence Hall
So, you live off campus and you don't really want to drive all the way home for a nap. So, text your friends who live on campus and ask them if you can sleep on their couch real quick. I have taken naps in Green, Village, and Smith.
10. William Penn Lecture Rooms
Your professor has just dimmed down the lights and is about to start talking about the Kreb's Cycle; sweet dreams.
