What To Say When You Have Nothing To Say

What do you say when you have nothing to say? These past few weeks, the talk of the town has been the election, and nothing but that. I'm going to be honest with you - I do not like politics, and I enjoy just about anything but politics. I do not care for either Trump or Clinton, and I do not know how to voice my opinion with everything that is going on. Yes, I do have more conservative views, but that doesn't mean I like what Trump has represented himself as to the people. So what can I do or say to help the matter? Maybe the best thing to say is... nothing.

Nothing can be done now with President-elect Donald Trump surprisingly winning. Nothing can be done to woo the matter with his previous somewhat hateful and racist comments. I can only pray that he was just putting up a front to win desperate votes and run our great country with nothing but peace and love in his heart. Only at this part can I hope that he who runs the most powerful position in the world can not have hate in his heart and not really want to separate families, be homophobic, racist and make fun of handicapped people. That's something that middle school bullies do.

Actually looking back at the race, I cannot believe how things went. Really think about what went on in this past presidential race. All the immaturity, the name calling, the pointless arguing, the almost cartoonish antics that went on. I am ashamed of things by both parties that happened. Looking back, though, my eyes are a little bit more open as to exactly what went on with Trump. Sure, I consider myself a part of the Republican Party, but that is because of the economic part of it. I have mixed views for the large part of the whole "which party are you a part of" scheme. Just because you don't like Hillary's views doesn't mean that you should be fully behind Trump.

Trump blatantly disenfranchised how African American, Muslims, Hispanics, women and handicapped people feel. As a white male, I cannot imagine how some might feel, fear and worry. He completely shoved a lot of them to the side. This can not be denied.

As for the people who don't know what to say and are in a stand-still because you have a lot of friends leaning heavily towards the left and the right, try to be a light in the world and support what is good. In this day and age, what really is "right"? Put others first, never let anyone take advantage of someone's basic human rights/defend them, and be there for people who are having a tough time. It is NOT that hard to be a good human being - with compassion and love for your fellow man.

We are (for those of you that need reminding) one country, who all have the right to the pursuit of happiness and all should have equal opportunities regarding American dream. Do not cause violence and do not quarrel, why make things worse? The good lord will surely watch over us in a time of confusion and need.

No matter what happens, one man will not ruin our lives, and he will not make our lives that much better. This, too, shall pass.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
