Spring break is approaching and your friends are either packing for Mexico, getting ready to visit someone in Florida, or getting ready to cozy up on the couch for the week. If you are like me, then you don't have a crazy vacation planned for Spring Break 2015. Actually, you don't have any vacation at all planned. Rather, you are trying to think of things to do to avoid the inevitable FOMO you will experience when you're friends are all Instagramming pictures in “paradise." Have no fear, because there is something for everyone to do this year. No matter what your budget or boundaries may be, I promise you can still have the best spring break.
1. Road Trip
Jump in your car and go on a road trip for a day, a few days, or even a week. Get some of your friends together and drive. If you prefer, you can even go alone and clear you're head. Whether you have a destination in mind or not, a road trip will allow you to bond with yourself or your best friends and there will, without a doubt, be stories to tell when you return.
2. Visit Family
Do you have family that lives far away who you haven't seen? Go visit them this spring break. Use this free time to visit your grandparents in Florida, or the aunt and uncle you haven't seen yet this year in Maine. Whether you can drive there or need to hop on a plane, staying with relatives saves money while still allowing you to get away.
3. Make Day Trips
Take a drive to somewhere you've always wanted to go and spend the day there. A week is a decent amount of time, and you definitely could accomplish many things. Get a group together and take day trips to places you've wanted to visit and check some things off your bucket list!
4. Be a Tourist for A Day
We are so close to both New York City and Philly. Go there! Be a tourist and sightsee, take tours, and eat at all the restaurants and dessert shops that you've always wanted to. The cities we live near have so much to offer, and you can use this break to take advantage of it all.
5. Visit Friends College/Abroad
If you are feeling really spontaneous, book a flight to visit your friends who are lucky enough to be abroad for the semester. If abroad is too difficult, book a flight or take a drive to your friends schools who have a different spring break than you. It is the perfect time to visit friends because you don't have to miss a weekend at school, and you can see your best friend who you haven't seen since winter break!
