This morning before I started my day, I sat in my car and broke down and cried.
I cried for the millions of families that will soon be broken up because people are so terrified of and terrible to people who have not been terrible to us, but have every right to be terrified of us.
I cried for the millions of women that have lost the rights to their bodies, and to those that will also lose the benefits that planned parenthood has provided for them. I cried for the millions of people who will no longer have health care.
I cried for disabled people who endure bullying every day, because our new president has been known to publicly make fun of disabled people.
I cried for the LGBTQA community that no longer has the support from the leader of our country, who now have to endure a president and vice president who support conversion therapy and want to overrule marriage equality.
I cried for African Americans because of the support our new president receives from the Klu Klux Klan. I cried for our country as I read how much praise our president is receiving from Vladimir Putin.
I cried for sexual assault victims all over the country as they now have to endure a president who openly jokes about sexual assault while the country writes it off as "locker room" talk.
I cannot fathom the amount of privilege one has to have to be unaffected by what a Donald Trump Presidency means, but I am heartbroken that this privileged will never be used in a positive light.
We stand divided because of the individual we have chosen to run our country for the next 4 years. Donald Trump hasn't won. Fear has won. Hate has won. Bigotry has won. Sexism, homophobia, racism, discrimination has all won.
You can make jokes and talk about how people are over reacting. You can point out that this doesn't affect you. You can, and will, do many things, but what you shouldn't do is ignore how this affects the American people.
