My Experience At An Anti-Trump Protest
Boston Herald and Stuart Cahill

It’s been a week since America elected their president for the next four years. The election was tough to watch because the suspense was killing us on who will be our next elected president. A large majority of America and the world were not happy with the results. It’s still very strange and shocking to hear who our next president is for 2017. I have nothing against the votes for the election or which party people are a part of.

Speaking as an adult here, we all have different opinions in the world. I am also not against the protests going on across the world for people who are Anti- Trump or don’t support what he or Pense want to do to “make america great again”. The Anti- Trump protests have been happening since the night Donald J Trump was elected president. The morning he was announced president, people were already grabbing sharpees and poster paper to write down every single thing they could think of to get people’s attention on what our world would look like to them now. The protests have been taking place in New York City, San Francisco, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky, Florida, and my hometown, Maryland.

I attended a peaceful protest last friday in Boston Commons. The protest was all about us having freedom of speech and hearing what everyone who is diverse in the world was there. I usually don’t get political no matter what the reason is but this was a total different experience I was feeling. I’ll point out the fact that I’m a woman who is not afraid to speak up about anything. I recently wrote on my facebook wall that I was terrified for the country which is one of the reasons I went to the rally with my friends.

I have friends who are gay, bi, colored, foreign who are equally important to all of us. I’m happy we got to go to the peaceful protest because you really saw how many people were affected by the election results and who were there to fight for their freedom. It was not a riot or showed any violence at all. The protest started at 2:00 pm and ended at 7:00 pm. Over 2,000 people showed up to the protest. You could see Boston Commons starting to grow because of the crowd that showed up. It was a successful peaceful protest which the world should see more of the violent riots. Again, freedom of speech is what I'm fighting for in order to help my country at this time.

We just need to keep showing our love and support for each other. "I'm not giving up, and neither should you".

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
