They always tell you how important school is. A lot of times we all just brush it off as if it was nothing. Others take school seriously and do everything they can to make it through it. School is hard. Rather simply high school, or getting into those life changing days of college! You finishing your education is something that can't be replaced. You can't get those years back, but you will make the next years fantastic. I dropped out of high school in eleventh grade. I decided to go back and finish my education for many reasons....
1. I wanted to be more than a statistic.
Teen moms are known for never finishing school. Rather it simply being high school, or actually furthering their education and going to college! I wanted to beat that; I wanted to be one of the teen moms who walked the stage in not only high school, but college. So, I told myself I would go back to school. I would get my high school diploma, and that's exactly what I did.
2. My kids deserved it.
As a mother, I have a responsibility to show my kids they can put anything they put their mind to. I want them to know no matter what life throws at them; they can do anything they want to achieve. I was a young mother of two small children who struggled in school, yet I put my mind to it and did my very best and showed the world I could do it.
3. I wanted to prove my family wrong.
My family told me the day I found out I was pregnant with my daughter everyone told me I would never get my education. I wanted to make them eat their words. I wanted to show them I could do it. I didn't care how long it took, but I WOULD finish high school. I WOULD go to college.
4. I wanted a brighter future.
Let's face it; nowadays you can't go very far without a high school diploma. If you don't have it, You may NEVER find a job. Your education is something everyone will look at and want you to have.
