Wedding Freaks:
Definition: Having a deep deep passion/love/obsession for weddings.
To all of my fellow wedding freaks, I'm sure you can relate to how I feel. Since I was about 4 years old, my love for weddings has grown and grown. I'm sure the getting married part will be great too, but weddings in general are a passion of mine. Instead of buying the "Tiger Paw" or other teenie bopper magazines teenagers got, I was looking at the Knot (wedding magazine). I would use my red marker to circle the things I liked and "X" out the things I didn't care for on the dresses, venues, or other parts of the weddings. There are so many cool aspects of the wedding to focus on.
THE DRESS
The wedding gown: the holy grail of all weddings. This is the part a lot of girls may get excited about. I have already decided what I want to look like, but this is how you're going to look when your last name changes and a new chapter in your life begins. I do not, unlike others, want to look like a cupcake or princess on my wedding day!
FOOD
OK, so food is one of the other important factors. Looking good on your wedding day is a lot of work when it comes to eating healthy and working out, but then your wedding day comes and you can splurge. Either a sit down or buffet, and that darn dessert table. Getting to plan the menu will be fun when it can go with your theme. All I know is my guests better leave room for dessert.
VENUE
I have dreamt about where my wedding will take place for years. I've come up with two locations: a winery, or somewhere in the country like a barn. Where your wedding is, sets the tone for the entire night and I want mine to be fun and laid back.
Although these are only a few things, planning weddings are an oddly enjoyable activity for me. My go-to shows are wedding shows like "Say Yes to the Dress" (Atlanta or New York City), "Four Weddings," or some type of baking shows. Monty and Lori have been our voices of reason for quite some time, with way more than just dresses. They gave some heavy advice and opinions when it came to standing up for yourself, having confidence, and definitely bringing the right people to your appointment. I think what I enjoy most is seeing people at one of their most joyful times. Being able to find the one you want to spend the rest of your life with is wonderful, especially when you're surrounded by your friends and family. From this, you may think I'm engaged, LOL I'm not but we all have different hobbies; weddings simply seem to be mine! Weddings are fun and all, but it's not all about the weddings, it is about the marriage and the life-long commitment with that one person. The planning is simply a perk in this journey!
