I'd like to write this article, not to take everyone away from the situation that is happening at our university, but just to remind everyone that Mizzou is still a great place where much success happens as well as many great things.
Here is a list why we should be proud that we attend Mizzou.
1. Shoutout to the Missouri School of Journalism for being ranked the No. 1 journalism school in the nation.
2. Shoutout to all of the students who participated in Mizzouthon back in March. Overall, they raised over $201,000 for the kids and are working even harder this year to raise money again for the main event.
3. Shoutout to Mizzou for hosting the largest blood drive in the country each year during Homecoming.
4. Shoutout to Mizzou for being the birthplace of Homecoming and constantly blowing every other school's homecoming celebration out of the water.
5. Shoutout to all of the Greek and other campus organizations that focus on raising thousands of dollars for philanthropic organizations.
6. Shoutout to the Mizzou Wheelchair basketball team for being a nationally ranked team and Head Coach Ron Lykins for being chosen to lead the 2016 Paralympics wheelchair basketball team as the next head coach.
7. Shoutout to the 35,441 students who chose to attend this university and good luck to you all as you continue your education.
That list can go on and on. Mizzou has been the center of attention for the media lately and I hope that all of this gets resolved soon. I know that everyone does not need to be reminded on what they should be proud about when it comes to this university. This is just something that I hope can help lighten the mood around campus.
