We are halfway through the second semester. Everything is starting to pile up. Due dates are coming sooner than you thought. Before you know it, it will be finals season again. Your stress level is getting pretty up there, isn't it? It's all good because here are some ways to help you de-stress!

1. Fix your sleep schedule

Going to bed past midnight and then, taking long naps during the day? Nope! No more!

2. Manage your time and plan ahead

Most, if not all, your classes should have a course calendar. Make note of important dates and set reminders for yourself.

3. Learn to prioritize and say no

It's okay to say NO whether it is to your friends trying to convince you to go out or working an extra shift.

4. Avoid waiting until the very last minute to do things

Procrastination is never the move. You are only going to stress yourself out more.

5. Do not take on more than you can handle

Multitasking does not always work out well. Also, know your limit and do not overwork yourself.

6. Learn to budget your money

I know it is very tempting to always treat yourself, but spend your money wisely to avoid always worrying about your expenses.

7. Do some kind of physical activity

Hit the gym. Go for a run. Lift weights. Not only will you release some stress, but you will also get some #GAINS.

8. Consume less caffeine

I know many of us depend on caffeine to get us through the day, but, if you know it makes you jittery or anxious, try consuming less.

9. Try eating healthier foods

Being so stressed leads to overeating. Manage your diet and go for better options!

10. Do not depend on recreational drugs

You might think they help but they are only a temporary solution to your larger problem.

11. Accept and ask for help if you need it

It's okay to need help. You can't always do everything.

12. Surround yourself with supportive people

Having a good support system is a must because, if you don't have understanding and caring friends, then that's only going to make things worse for you.

13. Watch something funny

Laughter is the best medicine, am I right?

14. Have a crying session

You know that feeling after balling your eyes out? Do not tell me it isn't one of the best feelings in the world.

15. Remind yourself of your accomplishments

Give yourself some credit!

16. Do not be too hard on yourself

Also, give yourself a break. You're doing better than you think!

17. Clean your room

It will help you get your mind off things.

18. Wrap yourself in some blankets and stay in bed

Burrito yourself up and just relax.

19. Blast your favorite songs

Sing along. Have a dance party. Enjoy yourself for a minute!

20. Get some coloring books

Check out adult coloring book!

21. Play video games

Why not hop on the Fortnite wagon?

When you feel like you have lost control, just remember these ideas can help to relieve some stress and get yourself back on track. You got this!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
