If you are a college student, you know that finals week, AKA "Hell Week", is just that. Between failed group project communication, exams, and papers due, hell week is enough to make any college student want to drop out, surprisingly even during the very last week. Here are 12 stress solutions to try this week.
1. Take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The parkway is beautiful and also a great way to get your mind off of stressors.
2. Try a new coffee shop in town.
It doesn't have to be entirely new, just new to you. This week I tried Bald Guy Brew, and it was amazing.
3. Clean your room.

By organizing your space, your mind will feel less cluttered.
4. Make a list.

The list could be about anything: groceries, assignments that have to be done, people you want to kill... The main goal is organization.
5. Sit on Sanford Mall.
One of my favorite things to do on campus is sit on Sanford Mall and people watch. During finals week, watching other people stress out too may offer some comfort.
6. Call a friend/family member you haven’t talked to in a while.
Sometimes your sister or brother just knows the best thing to say to calm you down.
7. Take a free yoga class on campus.
The Mayo Health clinic says, "Yoga brings together physical and mental disciplines that may help you achieve peacefulness of body and mind. This can help you relax and manage stress and anxiety". In addition, ASU offers free yoga classes.
8. Use essential oils.
Essential oils have gained more popularity recently for their health benefits. Natural News suggests lavender for stress relief.
9. Slow down.
The worst thing you could do is wear yourself out in the middle of studying.
10. Share a glass of beer/wine with a friend.
There is no amount of stress that a chat with a friend over a drink can't fix.
11. Talk to your professor.
If you're having any uneasy feelings or questions, talking to your professor will help you get organized.
12. Walk a dog at the Watauga Humane Society.
I recently found out that you can walk dogs at the Watauga Humane Society by simply signing up and choosing the dog you want to play with. There's a reason dogs are commonly used in therapy!
