Water Before Coffee Is Actually A Game Changer

It's kind of common sense but it's not always common practice.

Water Before Coffee Is Actually A Game Changer

Like many others in the world, I'm the furthest thing from a morning person. Also, like many others, the only thing that seems to give me any sort of pep in my step is coffee.

What I look, feel like, and would probably say to someone before I've had coffee. media1.giphy.com

Ahhh, yes, coffee. The best drink you can get your hands on when you feel like you haven't slept in a week. Honestly, I didn't think it could get any better than coffee alone until I came across a random health article on Facebook. You know the ones. The articles that grab your attention with titles like '10 Ways To Make Acne A Thing Of The Past'. You know you've read everything in it before you even click on it but 3 seconds later you're on the third suggestion.

One of the suggestions was to drink a glass of water before eating anything for breakfast but especially drinking coffee. When you wake up in the morning, you're dehydrated. Coffee, unfortunately, does not hydrate you. In fact i does the complete opposite. It makes you even more dehydrated which helps bring on that sluggish feeling you get a couple hours later.

With this in mind, I decided to do my best to add some water to my morning routine and I actually felt the effects. After drinking a bottle of water before going anywhere near caffeine, I already felt more awake. This was thanks to the water hydrating my brain and making me feel more focused, according to science.

Of course, the coffee afterwards tasted better. Don't get me wrong, I don't plan on straying away from my concoction of cream, sugar, and Maxwell House, but it felt nicer to want it instead of just depending on it to give me the ability to make sentences early in the day.

The long story short here, ladies and gentlemen, is do yourself a favor and take some sips of H20 before chugging your venti this-and-that if you want to have a slightly more enjoyable morning.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
