Whether your love Valentine's Day or hate it, you have to admit that there are some pretty iconic songs out there. In this playlist, you may find something special for a romantic listen.

20. Falling Slowly from Once the musical.

There must be something about strumming guitars and gorgeous vocals. If this song doesn't make you want to confess your love to someone, you're lying to yourself.

19. Accidentally in Love by Counting Crows

This song has been used in the classic movie, Shrek 2. Sometimes you fall in love completely by accident. There's something kind of beautiful about that.

18. A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton

This song may have turned into a meme, but in the early 2000s, this song was an absolute hit. Somehow Vanessa Carlton put the idea of missing someone into a catchy pop song. Impress your valentine by traveling to them by piano. It'll impress them for sure.

17. Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney

Teen heartthrob Jesse McCartney took the world by storm with this song. Being called a "beautiful soul" is a pretty good move if I say so myself.

16. When You Look Me in the Eyes by The Jonas Brothers

There is nothing better than a band full of cute brothers serenading you. If this song doesn't make you smooth, I dare you to watch the video. The Jo Bros still have my heart.

15. Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran

While this song may be a bit melancholy, it still makes you want to rush out and confess your feelings to someone. Ed's vocals have a bit to do with that, I think.

14.Unchained Melody by Righteous Brothers

An oldie, but a goodie. "Unchained Melody" has a simple melody that has managed to make people swoon through the ages.

13. Can't Helping Falling in Love by Ingrid Michaelson

.

This cover of the famous Elvis Presley song never fails to make me smile. Not only is Ingrid's voice haunting in this cover, but the piano is simply gorgeous.

12. Turning Page by Sleeping At Last

This song is one of the sweetest songs I have ever heard. The lyrics, "I've surrendered who I've been for who you are" make my heart flip every time.

11. Tee Shirt by Birdy

This song made me smile when I heard it for the first time on the "Fault in Our Stars" soundtrack. This song reminds me of having a crush and thinking about how they make you feel. Definitely a good song to have on your Valentine's Day playlist.

10. Mine by Taylor Swift

We all know Taylor Swift is the queen of breakup songs. However, she is also the queen of love songs too. You've probably seen this song in countless instagram captions. This song is about a girl who is afraid of falling in love, and her significant other fights for her and in the end they are happy together. It's a pretty cute song. Plus, it's super catchy. Good job, T Swift.

9. Halo by Beyonce

Beyonce really captures the love in this song. Not only is it catchy, but it's also about falling in love after building up walls after rough relationships. This song is also super fun to dance to.

8. I'll Be by Edwin McCain

It wouldn't be a Valentine's Day playlist if this song wasn't on it. This is one of the cutest songs I have ever heard. If you remember the dance scene from A Cinderella Story, this is the song Austin Ames and Sam Montgomery danced to in the gazebo. It's still touching to this day.

*Bonus* Here's the actual scene this song is in. I need the strings to play on a loop forever, thanks.

7. Sunday Morning by Maroon 5

Unpopular opinion time. Jazzy Maroon 5 is much better than pop-y Maroon 5. This song makes me want to go to the nearest wedding and slow dance. It's such a cute song and it's definitely underrated.

6. A Heart Like Yours by Williamette Stone

This song played in the "If I Stay" soundtrack. The simple guitar under the sweet lyrics helps make this song into a super cute ballad.

5. Helpless from Hamilton

This song makes me so happy. Phillipa Soo kills this song with her vocals, but it also helps you reminisce over your first love and how you met them. This song really brings out the feelings.

4. When You Say Nothing At All by Alison Krauss

I've heard this song play at numerous weddings. It's definitely a classic, but for good reason. It's a beautiful, simple love song. Sometimes the deepest things can be said only by a look.

3. My Girl by The Temptations

This song is an absolute classic. Not only does it get stuck in your head, but it helps bring all the happy feelings of being in love out.

2. Die A Happy Man by Thomas Rhett

A fiarly recent tune. Thomas Rhett makes me swoon with the simple melody in this song. If this song doesn't make you smile, you probably aren't listening very well.

1. Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion

This song is so heartwarming. This song may be one of the most iconic love songs of all time. It's definitely a must on a Valentine's Day playlist.

There you have it. These are some of the most romantic songs that you can jam out to this Valentine's Day. Sing loudly, and make sure to pour all of your feelings into every performance.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
