I am proud to be an American.
Lately the news has been filled with racial issues, gun violence and, of course, the election. However, today more than ever, I could not be more proud to be an American because of the 2016 Olympics.
Every single American athlete has put me in a state of awe due to the hard work, dedication and pride they have for their country. They have dedicated their whole lives to the sports they compete in just to make the United States of America proud. And, I must say they have absolutely done their job!
I have so much respect for every single athlete. Their lives are basically put on hold just to train and compete in the Olympics. During every single race, competition and game, they put in 110 percent to receive a medal, be the greatest in their event, and make America proud.
So far, these Olympic games have been a shining reminder of athletic greatness, bringing so much joy and pride to Americans all across the country. Every single day I look forward to watching the Olympics and seeing the American athletes win medal after medal. It has honestly been one of the greatest feelings to watch my fellow Americans represent our nation so well.
The American athletes have completely dominated in this Olympics. We saw Michael Phelps win his 22nd gold medal ever and Simone Manuel become the first African American in an individual swimming race to win a medal, which just happened to be gold. How about Lilly King taking a stand to prove that there are athletes out there who compete and train the proper way without using enhancements? Finally, let’s not fail to mention Simone Biles, who has taken home more than one gold medal in her first Olympic appearance!
It simply amazes me how these athletes have come together to prove that the United States of America is the most amazing country. Each athlete has been a leader and proved to others all across the world that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. Our athletes are amazing individuals and role models who have set out accomplish one simple goal of making every single American proud.
Thank you to every United States athlete for never failing to put a smile on my face every time I watch the Olympics. Thank you for all your hard work and for the training you put in to be the absolute best you can be. Thank you for being an outstanding role model to younger athletes in our great nation. Finally, thank you for making me proud to be an American each and every day of my life.
