Trying to save money is much harder than I thought. I say it all the time, but it takes more than just saying it to actually have money put aside. I still have a hard time understanding what that means. I convince myself that buying a tall Frappuccino instead of a grande every other day is saving money.
But I know I should just stop cold turkey. Sometimes after a long day that is all I want, besides, I want to end my day on a good note so I just cave in. Honestly, a Starbucks drink can be a solution to many things. If you are dehydrated, buy a refresher. If you are sick, buy a hot tea. If you are cold or need to wake up, buy a hot drink. If you are happy, buy a Frappuccino to be even happier.
I can go on for a while so I’ll stop there. So for me, that is not a waste of money. When it comes to eating out, I feel that I should stop, but a girl has got to eat. I know technically it is cheaper and healthier to just cook at home, but for me, it isn’t necessarily cheaper.
See I am hardly ever home that the majority of my food would just spoil and go to waste. I would end up just spending more money at the end of the day by buying groceries. To me it just makes more sense to eat out, it also saves me time.
My roommate constantly tells me I need to stop buying so many clothes, or at least sell the ones I don’t wear anymore. Well, I have three reasons not to listen to her. Number one, you are always supposed to dress for the job you want, not the job you have.
Currently, I am not sure what job I want, so I need to experiment with my outfits. Number two, I always want to have an outfit ready for any occasion, so I like to keep all my clothes. Number three, I will not sell my clothes because most have only been worn a few times, so selling them at a much cheaper price would just be throwing away money.
There are many tips I find online on how to save money, but honestly, they don’t work for me. It just doesn’t make sense with my lifestyle. I just need to keep looking for ways that don’t affect my way of living too much.
