8 TV Shows You Should Definitely Be Watching

Being a college student, I see myself following the same trends as my friends and acquaintances around me. That trend would be Netflix and watching TV. With having as much time on my hands as I do, but shouldn’t, I have come to love some specific TV shows. If you don’t know already, these are some of the best shows that you should be watching:

1. "The Walking Dead"

A show about a reality that most don’t think will become a reality. This show is a drama about the Zombie Apocalypse and family/friend bonds during a stressful time. In the first season, it takes a little bit to get into the plot of the show, but as soon as the second season starts, you’re addicted. I highly recommend this show and talk about it all the time. "The Walking Dead" airs on AMC and is also on Netflix.

2. "The Big Bang Theory"

If you don’t already watch this show, I don’t know what to say. This show is a comedy that follows the lives and friendships of four scientists. "The Big Bang Theory" is automatically addicting, and you don’t find yourself questioning why you’re watching the marathon on TBS every night starting at 8 p.m.

3. "Young & Hungry"

Starring the second big star of Hannah Montana, Emily Osment plays a 23-year-old who is struggling with young adult life. Other than struggling to make ends meet with rent, Gabi (Emily Osment’s character) struggles with her love life as well. I always find myself giggling at this show. "Young & Hungry" is a comedy on ABC Family and is also on Netflix.

4. "Catfish"

Wow. "Catfish." This show is crazy, which is ultimately why I watch it. Who doesn’t find a little bit of enjoyment out of watching a show about online dating? This show constantly leaves me on the edge of my seat, whether that is because of the twist that Nev and Max reveal or because I find the Catfish appalling. "Catfish" airs on MTV.

5. "American Horror Story"

This show is amazing. With each season being set in a different time period, "American Horror Story" is a well-made TV series about the common fears of the American public, without actually being scary. "American Horror Story" airs on FX and is also on Netflix.

6. "Botched"

I absolutely love this show. I am not ashamed that I watch marathons all the time when they are on. "Botched" is a reality show that gives the stories of those who have had that misfortune of getting a bad plastic surgery. This show does always end with a happy ending with everyone’s problems being fixed. "Botched" airs on E!

7. "Law and Order: SVU"

Of course I had to add this classic to my list. "SVU" has been a stable show since 1999 (I was five!) and always has marathons going. "Law and Order: SVU" follows the crimes of New York City. "Law and Order: SVU" airs on USA and is also on Netflix.

8. "Chrisley Knows Best"

This is the final show that I will add to my list. "Chrisley Knows Best" is a reality show about a family from Atlanta, Georgia. This show is absolutely hilarious and will have your sides splitting the whole 30 minutes. "Chrisley Knows Best" airs on USA.

These are just some of my favorite shows that I watch at all times of the day. If you aren’t already watching these, then you should start!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
