As most of you know, Donald Trump was sworn into presidency on Jan. 20 after his whirl wind of a campaign. Some of you were all aboard the Trump train, while some were concerned about how his presidency would affect the United States. Most were concerned because of Trump’s “get it done” attitude, but others saw this as what the U.S needs. During the inauguration of Donald J. Trump, protesters stormed the National Mall saying things such as, “Not my president!”, while others yelled “TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP!” who were all in favor of the new president.
As the parades began to celebrate the 45th president so did the protestors who are highly against Trump’s presidency. As a citizen of the United States Trump IS your president. It is your choice to wish him success or to wish him failure. This is the country you live in. Will you wish it to fail? Or will you pride yourself in being a citizen and wish him the best as he takes on his presidential responsibilities?
About an hour after Trump’s first speech as the 45th president he went into the capitol building to start getting things done. The president signed two executive orders which allowed General James Mattis to serve as his secretary of defense, and also a proclamation for a National Day of Patriotism.
“Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning.” Said Trump in his inaugural address. “Because today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another, or from one part to another – but we are transferring power from Washington D.C. and giving it back to you, the American People.”
