A couple of days ago my brother texted our family group chat and said, "guess who I'll be marching with in a couple weeks?" None of us knew, so eventually he told us, "Trump!" To which I, of course, had to double check to make sure.
Turns out Trump isn't marching in the March for Life, but he will be giving a statement which is still noteworthy in itself. If you don't know, the March for Life is an annual walk that takes place in Washington DC during January to peacefully protest abortion and celebrate life, especially the lives of the unborn.
If you haven't been, the march is not the happiest, most peaceful event to partake in. I went during my senior year of high school and was confronted by women asking me if I knew what I was marching for and how stupid I could be. There were men and women with fake blood all over them, protesting against us and promoting the pro-choice movement.
There were a few small riots and many of instances where the police had to handcuff and escort people. In a sense, the march for life is its own battleground for humanity.
And to hear that my president, our president, America's president, would be making an appearance as well is beyond encouraging. I can't remember the last time a president himself stood up boldly and shamelessly for the right to life. To say I'm proud would be an understatement. My president is speaking out for the fundamental right of all human beings; life. My president is pro-life.
