Beginning work and starting to drive on my own really opened up my eyes to a world I had no idea existed. Hatred. Yes, hatred is in fact all around us everyday, sadly, and it consumes too many people now that technology is just a fingers touch away. I'm not talking about your typical car honking for someone running a stop light, I mean just down right nasty hate. The kind commonly know as bullying. Something that I didn't know, is that it still occurs in adulthood, and more often than it did in high school.
First of all, is it so necessary to tailgate in traffic? In some cities you can get to once place in a matter of 15 minutes, otherwise get in another lane if me going the speed limit bothers you. I abide the laws, but if you want to pay for my rear ended car be my guest. Sometimes I know people don't go the speed limit, bu just go around them.
What I was taught growing up was to simply just love people no matter who they were. If you believe in the Bible it even says "love thy neighbor", whether your neighbor is African American, Latino, Gay, Transgender, or whom ever it may be. Just because someone of a certain group does something wrong doesn't mean everyone is bad. We all have our "bad seeds" in our cultures.
I have seen so many kind people in my life, and its so uplifting and can change your day. Therefore you can change others. People can change the lives of those around them through love and support, not a shrug or a frown. We don't have to be happy go lucky and skipping in the fields, but just a simple smile and "how are you today?" is nice when you approach others.
Remember that its going to make you and someone else feel better within. It makes someone, who may not be otherwise, feel appreciated. If you claim to a certain belief in love but your actions don't show it, you need to rethink you situation. Thinking about love and acting in love are two different things.
When things are just thoughts, they don't get accomplished, and choosing to be caring and loving is going to get you further than any stone face will. Once people see that you have opened yourself to them they do the same in return.
So put book covers, beliefs, and wealth aside and just be a kind human towards one another. Learn to forgive and forget because you're only going to live your life once, and you don't need to be surrounded by negativity with a grudge. Find what makes you happy so that you can put smiles on to the faces around you. Remember that life is much more valuable than just "making it" first, you'll have to get there (with a smile).
