So, the conventions have come to a close, and the two potential presidents have begun the fight. Well, maybe not exactly a fight. The Donald was scripted and well played during the RNC, letting his golden children shine to their fullest. Yes, there were some hiccups here and there, but for Trump the convention was surprisingly well controlled. However, somewhere along the way Trump decided sticking to the script was boring and just not his style. This was a big mistake. While it looked like Donald was going to dive into the generals and swim to victory; he seems to have slipped and belly flopped into this race. Equipped with his fast typing hands, easy access to twitter, and no filter insight, Donald Trump is really just messing this thing up for the Republicans.
During this mess that is Donald Trump, one can only imagine that Hillary and her clique (aka the Obama’s, Elizabeth Warren, Tim Kaine, and of course Bill) have already started emailing their friends inviting them to the victory party. However, if I were Mrs. Clinton, I would not suggest this be a time to sit back and relax. During the DNC Clinton brought her “A” game with talented celebrities, impactful speakers, and a lot of balloons. However, there was one thing missing from the convention that a lot of “never Hillary” supporters were waiting for; some honesty. While it was a brilliant idea for the Donald to keep a low-key and “safe” convention, this should not have been the same play from Hillary. There is no denying the fact that Americans are not too thrilled about their presidential options, so why doesn’t Hillary try to change that. Yes, she is an amazing speaker and the most qualified for the position; however is she willing to become transparent?
While a lot of people have grown a passionate (almost too passionate) dislike for Trump, there was a reason he was chosen as the republican nominee. Trump is transparent, and at times way to honest about what he is thinking. Although this trait has started to backfire on him (and will ultimately lose him the election), at one point it was what the majority of republican voters admired about him. So why doesn’t Hillary start taking some notes? By no means are the things she is doing helping gain her popularity. Instead, she is using silence to her advantage, while watching Trump dig his grave. But is that what we want as a president? Hillary is trying to take the easy win, instead of attempting to improve her image. It is extremely obvious that when Hillary speaks each word down to the breath is rehearsed to perfection. There is nothing wrong with being well scripted and well played, but Hillary’s script needs to be adjusted. At this point in the race Trump’s campaign has hit an all-time low, as republicans begin to back down from their support. There literally could not be a more perfect time for Hillary to show some honesty. Nothing she could say could be worse than what has exited Donald’s mouth these past weeks. So why doesn’t she start showing some risks with her campaign?
It was August 5 when the Clinton campaign thought it safe to put their feet in the water. Two truly lucky journalist had the opportunity to grace Hillary with a question. While the Clinton campaign called it a press conference, pretty much everyone else disagreed. Fast forwarding just a few days later, August 9 to be exact, Trump was set out to talk about economics. However, it is Trump, so of course he said something pretty ridiculous. If you didn’t hear the comment here it is:
"If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks. Although the Second Amendment people—maybe there is. I don't know." – Donald Trump
This single comment was an extreme step back for Trump campaign, and became a media frenzy. Even Ronald Reagan’s daughter, Patti Davis, spoke out in outrage over the remark. To think that just a few days before this Hillary could have actually said anything, and it would have been swept under the rug in a matter of days. The only thing people would have truly remembered is that Hillary had finally spoken out. Instead, she went on to talk about Trump and his economic plan.
OK, so I know the fact that he hasn’t released his tax returns is sketch, but Trump pretty much made it this far because of his economic background. Clinton may have a more detailed plan; however, all people are going to hear when she talks is “another year of Obama”. While this may work for some people, for a lot of people it does not. Another piece of advice I have for Hillary is stop bashing Wall Street. It’s one thing to maybe make suggestions that things on Wall Street need to change, but Hillary is boldly turning her back on these investors. Hillary we are not stupid. People are well aware of the fact that you got a ton of money investing as well as speaking for Wall Street. Not only that, but Wall Street has invested around 27 million in her campaign. At this time Bernie Sanders took no donation from Wall Street, and even refereed to Hillary Clinton as their “pawn”. Well clearly not anymore since she has turned her back on her 1 percent buds and Wall Street pals in hopes of being welcomed by the Sanders supporters and gaining Warrens friendship.
"And Wall Street corporations, and the super-rich should finally pay their fair share of taxes. That's why I support the so-called Buffett Rule, because multi-millionaires should not be able to pay a lower tax rate than their secretaries.” –Hillary Clinton
I could literally go on for days talking about how hypocritical Mrs. Clinton is when it comes to money. Hillary Clinton made a huge fortune for herself, and that’s amazing. Why doesn’t Hillary talk about how she built herself up, and advertise herself as a hustler for her family and America? Instead she decided to pretend she isn’t part of the top 1 percent, and that she has no ties to Wall Street. Don’t bite the hand that once fed you Hillary, just a childhood reminder. Donald Trumps economic advisor list is built of extremely successful bankers, hedge fund managers, and developers who understand money (clearly look how freaking successful they are). Attacking this list and saying there is not enough “diversity” in education or gender is a waist of the Clinton campaigns time (because no one really cares).
This campaign is different than previous, and Hillary needs to realize that fast. Trump running for president may look like a disaster, however he says it as it is and demands the truth. Hillary, no one is looking at you to bash his economic plan or the little details of his campaign. Trump is on a fast decline down the slide right now and he really doesn’t need any more pushing from the Clintons. The thing that Hillary needs to realize is while Trumps campaign may be unethical and just weird, his supporters are still there shouting “never Hillary.” Get honest fast, and take a lesson from Trumps book Hillary, because the campaigns only getting started and the world is looking at you to step it up.
