I love sports. There, I said it. Anyone who knows me knows that my life revolves sports — always has and always will.
No, there is nothing wrong with me. I grew up in a sports household. I played soccer for 12 years. When I wasn't playing soccer, I was traveling with my family to watch my older brother play baseball. And on the very rare occasion I wasn't doing either, my dad always had sports on the TV.
I'm even trying to make a career out of it. As an aspiring sports reporter, I hope to share my love for sports to the world. I get it, ladies: sports can be sometimes boring and confusing. But it will be my job as a reporter to make it more understandable for you. In a mostly male-dominated job, I hope to be just as good and knowledgeable as the male experts. Kudos to all the ladies in the field who are already making it easier for my dreams to become a reality.
No, I am not a bandwagon fan. It just so happens that my teams all did extremely well last season. Shout out to the San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors! Believe it or not, I have stuck with my teams during the losing seasons too.
It's not easy. Trying to have a sports conversation with friends who are not interested in sports can be difficult. It's even harder when your friends have no idea what you are talking about. Your girl friends will not understand that plans need to be made around sports. Don't even try to make plans with me if one of my teams is in the playoffs.
Loving sports has given me some of the greatest memories. I will never forget attending game one of the World Series in 2010 or even going to as many Arizona Wildcats Basketball games as possible. There is nothing quite like the feeling of being a fan. It has showed me what I truly am passionate about. I am not ashamed to say I have cried when my team won and lost. You have never experienced stress until your team is in a close game during the playoffs.
Is there anything better than watching sports with the girl you like? Girls who enjoy sports will actually understand what's going on. I think I can speak for all girl sports lovers when I say that the perfect date would be going to a game. The one downside is that if you are a fan of my rival team, chances are we won't work out. Sorry Dodger fans.
In the end, there will always be ups and downs, but sports will always be there for me. When baseball season is over, football and basketball season will fill any voids. It's a never ending cycle of entertainment. Remember, there's always next season.
