I didn't choose the addict life, the addict life chose me, and I am perfectly OK with that. Ever since I can remember, music has had one of the biggest impacts in my life. From car rides to showers, days by the pool or at a party with friends music is always my first priority. My favorite thing about music is that I will like anything you throw at me, and I love nothing more than discovering a new artist or song. My music choice definitely depends on my mood and I feel like that is also true for many others. Music is my coping mechanism no matter the situation, good or bad, I know I can always count on it to help me out.
I use five different sources for listening to music; Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, and Pandora. I save songs to some while I use others for the playlists they provide. My favorite thing about Spotify is that I can see what my friends are listening to and find new artists based off what they like. I enjoy SoundCloud because the different covers and versions of songs I can find. Pandora always seems to have good playlists to match what kind of music you are looking for. YouTube is where I look up the songs I can't think of the name to and match them to what I am looking for. Although I find myself not using Apple Music as much anymore, a music app is a music app and I still love it. Most people find themselves not having storage on their phones because of pictures, but my phone is strictly because the music.
Not only do I find myself constantly listening to music, I am always going to concerts. Although some may see it as a waste of money, I think of it as an awesome way to put my love for music, live. From the beginning of 2016, I have been to over 25 shows. I know, it's a lot, but I just can't seem to get enough. My sister and I are very guilty about the "this is it" and " we cannot keep spending money on shows", but within the next week we find ourselves with another $100 spent on tickets. I have never ever regretted going to a show and have enjoyed almost all that I have been to. Concerts are one thing that I will never stop going to, until the day I die.
When I say I am addicted I don't mean to say it like it's a bad thing, I just truly feel as if music is an addiction of mine. I take huge doses each day and I can never seem to get enough. I can't do anything without playing a song, even if it is just walking from one class to another, when they're less than five minutes away from each other. I was exposed at such a young age to the art, and with being a dancer, my love was only enhanced. My grandpa, dad, sisters, and dance teachers were all extremely influential in the growth of my love and I am forever grateful for that.
