Whether it is at two in the morning or two in the afternoon, pizza is always the answer. I mean, where else can a college student get their dairy, meat, vegetables, carbohydrates and protein all in one cheap slice? If there is one thing to be said about New Jersey, it's that we know how to make a good pizza. I have traveled all across the east coast and down south, but no one seems to make a pizza like the Garden State. One thing I know we all have learned from being in college is that pizza will always be there for us. So being at home in South Jersey for the summer, I did a little research to find the best pizza closest to me.
5. Cherry Hill Pizza, Camden County, NJ.
I may be a little biased since I was born and raised in Cherry Hill, but Cherry Hill Pizza has been around for decades serving up not only pizza, but milkshakes, pasta, salads, sandwiches, and of course, Philly steaks among a variety of other delicious foods. Located in the Barclay Farm Shopping Center, this place is definitely a must try for all pizza lovers out there.
4. Raymond's Pizza, Camden County, NJ.
Established in 1964, Raymond's pizza has been around for over 50 years. Theirstriped sauce and cheese combination appearance is what makes them stand out from the other pizza joints. Also located in Camden County, this light and fluffy pizza will make you never want to stop eating it.
3. King of Pizza, Camden County, NJ.
I mean, it's in the name.
2. Manco & Manco's Pizza, Ocean County, NJ.
With locations all around Ocean City, NJ, Manco & Manco (formally known as Mack & Manco's) is some of the best pizza you can get at the shore. Everyone in New Jersey knows that the only thing better than our pizza are our beaches. So what happens when you combine the two? Heaven on Earth.
1. Lorenzo & Sons Pizza, Philadelphia, PA.
Okay, I know what you're all thinking. Philadelphia isn't in South Jersey, but if you ask anyone from these southern parts, they will tell you that Philly is one of the many perks of being down here. North Jersey has New York City and we have Philadelphia. So Lorenzo and Sons located on South Street is simple and straight-forward with limited options for toppings and cash only payment. Oh, and did I mention the slices and pies are bigger than your head?
