So you are not in PCB, Fort Lauderdale, Mexico or anywhere with a beach, right now. It may be colder at home, but that's okay! Going home for spring break comes with its advantages. Here are the top things you can do if you find yourself at home for spring break, in no specific order.
1. Play with your pet(s) -- or your stuffed animal(s) if you don't have a pet. Come on, you definitely miss cuddling with them.
2. Shopping! You need a new dress or suit for your upcoming formal, right?
3. Crafting! You, your big and/or your little can never have too many crafts.
4. Bake delicious treats. I am celebrating Purim a little late and baking some of these delicious Hamantaschen. Can't do that on the beach!
5. Lay on the couch and watch all the TV or Netflix (or both) that your heart desires.
6. Work on those job or internship applications that you put on the back burner while you dealt with schoolwork last week. And research more places to apply to because, hey, more options.
7. Get a head start on the projects and papers you'll have to do upon returning from break. The more you do now, the less work you'll have during Little 500 week.
8. Chuckle when you think you are actually going to get schoolwork done.
9. Watch March Madness. Go Hoosiers!
10. Have a nice dinner out with your family. Also, have a nice home cooked meal with your family.
11. Get into shape. You have a lot more time on your hands so, really, no excuses. Remember that formal you have coming up?
12. Get a haircut, manicure, pedicure, massage, etc. because you really need it and it's definitely been a while.
13. Visit with friends you haven't seen in a while, or get together with friends from school who also went home and live nearby.
14. Enjoy some much needed peace and quiet.
15. Read The Odyssey. We have some pretty great stuff, I must say.
And most importantly...
16. Sleep In your own room! You deserve it after that awful round of midterms!
Have a great spring break! And don't worry, we'll be back in Bloomington soon enough.
