Trying to watch all of your favorite college team's games can be a real pain in the butt, but if you're a fair weather fan that just likes to watch all of the important games, no worries, here's a guide for all of the most anticipated games for the season based purely on my knowledge of what I believe will be an interesting year.
1. Week 1:
Easily the most anticipated week, with games featuring Wisconsin vs. LSU at Lambeau field, USC @ Alabama, Notre Dame @ Texas for Sunday night action, Clemson @ Auburn, and to cap off the week, Ole Miss @ Florida State.
2. Week 2: Iowa State @ Iowa
Let's hope the Hawkeyes are still recovering from that Rose Bowl beat down from Christian McCaffrey and Stanford. Although the Hawkeyes return many starters, I expect them to take home the Cy-Hawk trophy with a big victory.
3. Week 3: Ohio State @ Oklahoma
Another loaded week with top notch games, but this one could be the most important. Can JT Barrett lead the Buckeyes against Baker Mayfield and Samaje Perine of the Sooners? Winner of this game plays a pivotal role in winning the Big Ten or Big 12.
4. Week 4: Stanford @ UCLA
Prime time Pac-12 matchup featuring Heisman candidate Christian McCaffrey of Standford and rising sophomore star quarterback Josh Rosen from UCLA. Hopefully both defenses have a great game plan, otherwise fireworks will start shooting off very quick.
5. Week 5: Oklahoma @ TCU
Big time Big 12 matchup between pass-happy teams. My prediction is whoever has the ball in the final minutes wins this game. Expect a shootout.
6. Week 6: Oklahoma vs. Texas @ Cotton Bowl
Wow, Oklahoma again? Yes, week 6 features the Red River rivalry. I'd expect Oklahoma to win, but don't sleep on the Longhorns as they aim to win for the second year in a row.
7. Week 7: Stanford @ Notre Dame
Underrated rivalry that always produces great football games, including last years game-winning field goal from Conrad Ukropina from Stanford. Expect this one to be close, predicting Notre Dame for the upset.
8. Week 8: Ohio State @ Penn State
Ohio State heads to Happy Valley with a four game win streak against the Nittany Lions. Can the Buckeyes continue that streak in front of 110,000 fans prime time? 8:00 p.m. kickoff, wouldn't want to miss this one.
9. Week 9: Michigan @ Michigan State
A great rivalry that should've resulted in a Wolverine victory until your Aussie punter botched a snap and blew that one. Two great coaches in Jim Harbaugh and Mark Dantonio, doesn't get much better.
10. Week 10: Alabama @ LSU
Another spectacular rivalry, hopefully LSU and preseason Heisman front runner, Leonard Fournette, have more than 31 yards on 19 carries against a stout Alabama defense. Expect a close ball game here, folks.
11. Week 11: Baylor @ Oklahoma
I know it seems I've been riding the Oklahoma train, but they just happen to play in a lot of top games. Who knows how Baylor will be since the sexual assault fiasco, but this game could determine who wins the Big 12 outright.
12. Week 12: Ohio State @ Michigan State
The Big Ten game of the year, the last three years have determined who wins that 'ole conference. This could be more exciting than Michigan vs. Ohio State, and let's see if Ed Wariner can have better play calling.
13. Week 13: Michigan @ Ohio State, Auburn @ Alabama
The game. Ohio State rides a four game winning streak in the rivalry, but can Michigan and those jumpman uniforms play spoilers? Or do they fall victims for the 14th time in 16 years? As for The Iron Bowl, this one could go either way, either a dominating Alabama win, or an Auburn miracle could happen.
