Kpop, otherwise known as Korean pop music, is growing more and more prominent around the world based with its varied amount of groups and solo artists who perform catchy music and advanced dance. It doesn't matter that most of the lyrics used are Korean when Kpop uses interesting concepts in their music videos and beats appealing to a wide range of audiences. If you want to explore more of Kpop and what it has to offer, here are my top 10 groups and/or artists you can look into.
1. SNSD/Girls Generation
This girl group was one of the first and has acquired hit after hit. With a catchy chorus line and show-stopping dance routines, they're definitely a group everyone should know.
2. BTS
BTS has been on tour internationally for their, what people would call, "dope" music.
3. Twice
Twice is a newer girl group that is quickly gaining fans with their singles. It certainly shows on the billboards. Their songs will be stuck in your head for hours.
4. SHINEE
SHINEE is an older group with a large fan base. They're best known for their advanced dancing skills.
5. Super Junior
Super Junior was my very first Kpop group. They were made up of a huge group to fit anyone's taste. Their style and beats, especially in "Mr. Simple Simple," is what dragged me in.
6. Got7
Got7 has addicting beats and lyrics to match. The group has many individuals with different heritages that make them even more unique.
7. Miss A
Miss A has very spunky songs that will get you dancing and singing along in a heartbeat.
8. Lee Hi
Lee Hi was discovered through "Kpop Star," an "American Idol"-esque show. If you like soul then you should definitely check her out because she certainly knows how to belt out a tune.
9. Akdong Musician
This brother-sister team has very catchy tunes that can range from cute to groovy. The brother of the team plays guitar while his sister takes to the main vocals.
10. Amber
Lastly is f(x)'s Amber. She has her own style and writes many of her own songs. She's American born and can really rap to a good beat.
