I'm usually not one to post about politics on the internet but I just can't sit in silence anymore. While I am trying to fall asleep, when I first wake up in the morning, these thoughts will not leave my head. My heart hurts. My heart hurts for the state of out country. My heart hurts for the refugees, the ones stuck in airports, the ones separated from their families. My heart hurts because people can't look past religion and what country people are from and post such vile thing about another HUMAN. My heart hurts for those that are scared and have nowhere to go - their home is in shambles. I cried because I'm scared for them. I cried because people I know and love have shared and posted things that should never be said about another human. So I am on my knees praying and begging for the state of our nation, praying for these people that are trying to find a new home, and praying for those here that are saying things (hopefully) out of fear and anger.
"For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another."
- 1 John 3:11
" God defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt."
- Deuteronomy 10:18-19
I learned a deeper meaning for the words of our Lord Christ when he spoke of those who mourn. I mourn with the homeless, those persecuted and terrorized, driven out of their own country because they will not align themselves with the radicals who have twisted their religion into something it was never meant to be. I mourn, too, because this country was built on the backs of immigrants and because many of our own people are allowing fear turn us into something twisted and ugly. Yet, many will claim that this action is going to make America great again. I do NOT share their sick enthusiasm.
