To the coach who has reignited my love for the game,
I want to thank you for not only making me fall in love with soccer again, but for allowing me to fully enjoy my favorite thing in this world with a smile on my face. It is unfortunate that the the thing I fell in love with when I was little has slowly made its way to the bottom of my to-do list. You have stepped into a new program and have leaped into the coaching role to its fullest. As a personal and team favorite, I think we can all attest to the fact that you have changed us. You have given us all the confidence to improve. Not only am I excited to go to practice, but I am excited to make strides with my team by my side. You have made us a collective unit, and for doing that, I cannot thank you enough.
To every soccer player reading this, you know the difficulty of having to run to practice and sprint to class right after. You know the struggles that come along with fitness practices and tough lifts. My coach has made me, and the rest of my team, want to improve more than we ever have before, despite the sweat and tears that are put into the effort.
So, you are all wondering, how can one person change an entire team? The answer is attitude. One person’s attitude has boosted an entire team’s morale within a mere 6 months. It takes one person to walk to the field with a smile, aiming to improve not just several favorites, but each and every individual. “Bench player” and “starter” titles have been stripped and we now play for each other. We play to have fun and we play to be happy, but of course, keeping in the back of our minds that we have a job to do.
Can attitude really drive a team? Can attitude really be the force that controls our happiness in what we do? My coach has shown each and every one of us that with a little bit of a positive attitude, a group of 20 girls are capable to be a family. I am proud to say that I have fallen in love with the beauty of soccer all over again and I could not be happier.
Attitude is extremely contagious. Make sure to be around a good one, and catch it!
Love,
Your team.
