Congratulations, you made it to your senior year of high school. This is the year you've been waiting for, only one more year until college. This is the year for prom and senior skip days and graduation. Senior year is unlike any other. It won't hit you when you first wake up for your last first day of school or when you walk into the senior locker sections as an official senior. It won't hit you when you cheer at your last football game or during those last dances at the homecoming dance. It still won't hit you as you fill out numerous college applications. But so soon those things will become lasts. So soon you'll be at your last Friday night football game. You'll be taking your last school test and you'll have your last report card. One day soon, you'll close your locker and walk out of that school forever. You'll soon be standing in your cap and gown next to the people you've watched grow up and are now saying goodbye to. One day you won't be in high school anymore.
Senior year is unlike any other. This year, don't wish the days away. Walk down those halls and memorize everything- the gym, the classrooms, your friend's desks, and all the memories that can fit into a year, that I promise will fly by way too quickly.
