You were there the very first day before my dorm became home. You were there the first time I had to figure out how to to live without my parents.
When we first met, we shyly said "hi" and our parents talked and exchanged stories of how we got here. When our roommates arrived, I was glad that I already knew one other person on the hall.
We supported each other through the good and the bad, always there for one another. Late night study sessions in the dorm hall, and movie nights with blankets, pillows, and way too much candy for our own good.
Getting ready for formals included hours of fixing our hair and make-up prep. There was usually some Taylor Swift blasting somewhere in the suite. And some crazy singing / dancing going on.
We grew up from freshmen into sophomores, knowing our way around, but still making mistakes along the way. This was the year that we became roommates and became closer than ever. Late night movies and Nutella snacks were a constant, and we held each other up when we couldn't quite stand.
We learned that late nights were a constant in our lives, and we ordered pizza when we were too tired to walk to the dining halls. We took pictures of each other when we fell asleep doing homework, knowing that we would laugh at them the second we woke up.
As juniors, all we wanted was for time to slow down. How did we only have one year left? We moved into our first apartment - we officially "adulted" together. We'd collapse on each others' beds, and would talk hours into the night. Everything from the funniest Ellen clips, to how our days went, and everything in between.
When senior year came around, I was in denial that this was our last year. You were the person that I had become closest with in my four years at college.
We still talk hours into the night and realize how similar that we are. And how hard it's going to be to not have you in the room next door to mine.
You were there from day one and watched me grow into the person I am today. You gave me tissues when I was stressed over an assignment, or life became a little too much to handle. You believed in me when I didn't know how to believe in myself, and watched "The Bachelor" with me when we both had to know who Ben Higgins ended up with.
You went from a friend who lived across the hall from me to the best friend I hoped I would find in college.
Thank you for every memory - you're the best friend I could've asked for.
