To my ex-boyfriend's family,
It is always an amazing thing to be welcomed into a family besides your own. Y'all welcomed me with open arms, despite the fact that you all barely knew me. You do not get to pick your family, but I am so glad you guys "picked" me to be a part of your lives. I need to take the time to thank you all for all the love you have shown me.
To his Mom, that I am lucky enough to call my second Mom, thank you.Thank you for treating me like another daughter. When I first met you, I was greeted with nothing but love and affection from you. Thank you for always including me in family plans and photos. You have always made me feel at home. Every delicious breakfast and dinner left a permanent imprint on my heart.
To his Step-Dad, thank you for being you. You have always been there to make me laugh when I was down (even though you never knew it). Most of all, thanks for teaching me how to shoot a gun. You rock.
To his Dad, thank you for all of the laughter. Every "glad you got to see me" we've exchanged throughout the past two years will always be close to my heart. Thank you for every bowling night you have included me in, family dinner I was invited to, and for treating me as one of your own.
To his siblings, y'all are practically my own at this point.
Little sister, thank you for always being here as an open ear for me to talk to. You have always considered me your own, and I am so thankful to have you. Even though you're the youngest, you always give the best advice. So, thanks for sharing a love of books and Baskin Robbin's ice cream with me!
"Big Bro", you're the coolest. Thanks for teaching me how to not suck too much when bowling (okay, it is still pretty bad). You have always been here to give advice and make me laugh.
To his sister-in-law and brother, thank you for letting me be a part of yours and your kid's lives. I never felt like anything less than family when I was around y'all, and for that I am thankful.
To his extended family, thank you for treating me like I was not an outsider that randomly showed up in your house, even though that is exactly what I was.Thank you for feeding me at every family function. Thank you for making me feel like I was apart of the family, for that I will be forever grateful.
Thanks y'all for all the memories, I will treasure them for the rest of my life. Most of all, thank you for accepting me for who I am. Despite the differences that me and your son have, I will always care about you. You will always be my second family, no matter what.
