Dear Mom,
Let’s just start by saying I miss you. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you and your big heart, but I honestly don't know if I tell you enough how important you are. See without you, I would be a mess. If it weren’t for your big hugs, positive words or beautiful smile I don't think I would be where I am today.
Today, I am a college student. I wouldn’t be here with out you though. You always remind me that I can accomplish anything. You say it, believe it and even buy encouraging cards at Hallmark that say everything you are thinking of.
Ten years ago, I was living under the same roof as you. I was rude, dramatic and every Mother’s nightmare of a daughter. I didn’t appreciate you or everything you did for me on a daily basis.
Twenty-two years ago, I was you're only child. I was the light of your life, but I couldn’t even talk. I had you all to myself and even then I couldn’t tell you how special you are.
Jumping back to today, I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. For being there for me through all my stages. For supporting me. For loving me and my attitude, which is fun to deal with. For making me mac and cheese for every meal. For allowing me to love Cherrios and Friends even as a twenty year old. For loving my siblings and my dad. For writing on my lunches. For driving me to school because I was afraid of the bus. For holding me when I cry. For laughing at me when I say something funny. For accepting me at my worst and loving me at my best. For holding my hand while I feel asleep. For loving Lilly as much as I do. For giving me the world.
I think I could go on and on about how incredibly amazing you are, but instead I just want you to know one thing. No matter where I go in life or what I do, I will always have you and you will always have me. I am a phone call away. You raised me to be the woman I am today and for that I am forever grateful. Now, it is my turn to treat you like the princess that you treated me as.
Even though I am not down the hall from you anymore, you still are with me everyday. From the blanket I sleep with, to the late night texts you will always be a part of me. On the days that we don't talk, just know I am doing something to make you proud. I want to thank you for being you and remind you that you are never alone. You will always have me. I am so proud of you and lucky to call you my Mom.
I love you Mommy.
